Artist releases video for ‘I *heart* Olivia Munn’ and announces California tour dates
BROOKLYN, NY March 5, 2010 – Nathan “the1shanti” Laskar is embarking for the West Coast Tuesday March 9th to support the release of his new EP, Attack of the Flow! and his desire to produce a single for Attack of the Show! hostess, Olivia Munn. Through a collaborative effort with Portableapps.com and his own Opensourcehiphop.org project, the Brooklyn-based digital artist is travelling with the means to produce a song using primarily open source applications stored on a self-contained USB stick. In addition, he has released a viral stop-motion style video for his single ‘I *heart* Olivia Munn’ shot and directed by Michael “ElekTro4” Schofield, for which he is throwing a video release party at LA’s Hubwize March 13th. All he asks in return? A kiss on the cheek from Munn on camera. Programming since the age of seven, and freestyle rapping since the age of eight, when asked about the motivation behind Attack of the Flow!, Laskar says, “It’s an attempt to bridge the two worlds I inhabit together, hip-hop culture and life in the digital space!” He jokes, “These days, Prince Charming’s glass slipper comes in the form of viral videos and tech know-how, and for me if it inspires good music, the slipper’s the right fit.” Attack of the Flow! can be downloaded on a “pay what you want” basis from http://music.the1shanti.com. Laskar announced on YouTube last week that the financing for his journey comes 100% via funds garnered from fan downloads of the project. In the time since the Attack of the Flow!’s release, video messages from Peoples Revolution CEO, Kelly Cutrone, and The L Word star Janina Gavankar have surfaced online encouraging Munn to take Laskar up on his offer. He has released a string of hits via Sony Asia and Universal Music with his group the Dum Dum Project.
