The new year rolled in with fresh energy and new resolutions. For me, one of 'em was to get off my rocking chair and shake up things a bit by calling everyone I dig in and around Brooklyn and starting to piece together the scene I'd like to see jump off. Almost half a month into it, I've realized that I have yet to post stuff, so here we go: Release announcements: February 14th = 2 new projects the1shanti - Attack of the Flow! So...I haven't released a full length of my own since 2007's Rawkus album, which crazy amounts of you guys and gals have downloaded and been giving me so much great feedback on. My next full length will be out to you on Valentine's Day and it's entitled Attack of the Flow!. The morning of the 14th, you'll be able to download a very special version of the album directly from http://music.the1shanti.com along with other goodies. Bonita Applebum - The Genius Machine EP Shefali and I will be releasing our first EP on Valentine's Day as well. It's a crazy mix of our two worlds and minds and completely off the beaten path in comparison to the album we've been writing. Just a bunch of versions of the songs we like the best so far, and remixes to give you a taste of what's to come later in the year! Then...hit the road and tour! Here's all the other fun stuff that's been going down since the new year. I've been super productive and pumping things out left and right. ElekTro4 and I kicked off production on a stop motion video for I *heart* Olivia Munn. What we thought would be a weekend of fun filled pipe cleaner goofiness has become an eyebrow-raising obsession. I think by the end of it all, we'll have spent a solid month in working, and a week in planning. Have a look: I've also been kickin it with a friend of mine pretty regularly by the name of Heavy Pennies. I'll be releasing his EP later this year, and he makes a guest appearance on Attack of the Flow! Below you can hear the track we put together as well as one on the acoustic which I'm banging into shape for his EP. Enjoy! Happy belated new year, and I hope you enjoy what I've got cooked up. Ready. Set. Here we go! |
